The University of Chicago is located in the neighborhood of Hyde Park, seven miles south of the city center (also known as the Loop). Hyde Park is easily accessible from downtown by all major forms of transportation so if you're coming to campus from downtown the school suggests public transportation -- parking on campus can be difficult.
