We at Quad2Quad believe there is no substitute for the in-person, on-campus visit for students and their families seeking to find the right college that matches each student’s interests and capabilities. But organizing multiple campus visits can be a confusing, complex task. We designed Quad2Quad as mobile solution for college bound families facing the challenges of managing the complex data necessary to make college visits efficient and effective.
Quad2Quad makes it possible for families to:
• avoid pitfalls such as missing important deadlines and opportunities for tours and interviews;
• prevent showing up without a reservation at institutions that require advance scheduling (e.g.
Georgetown)
• allay parking fears and avoid glitches like missing a tour or info session by failing to pick up the
necessary parking permits, having the right supply of quarters for metered parking( e.g. at MIT), or
circling in vain in search of parking convenient to the admissions office.
Quad2Quad’s initial offering, which addressed these issues, made this revolutionary app a boon to the college-visiting family. Now Quad2Quad is pleased to announce a new offering—the Connected College Visit-- to make college visits even more efficient, pleasant, and memorable. This feature, soon to be made available to all Quad2Quad users, allows both students and parents before, during and after the time of their visit to connect with with other visitors who share multiple in-depth areas in common, ranging from an interest in the same major to the same type of college experience.
The Connected College Visit feature is offered thanks to a partnership with the award winning, privacy-first, social discovery app SameGrain. Voted the " Best Start-Up Idea" by the Washington Post and selected as one of three Maryland “start-ups to watch” in 2014 , Same Grain’s social discovery capabilities are a natural enhancement to Quad2Quad. These resources will make each Connected College Visit a socially rewarding, interactive, personalized experience for today’s digitally connected students and their families.
