Washington and Lee University
If you are unable to travel to the Washington and Lee University campus in Lexington, Virginia, please feel free to contact an Alumni Admissions Program Chair in your area to arrange an interview. The Alumni Admissions Program (AAP) is a network of alumni volunteers who assist with student recruitment activities, including interviews, college fairs and receptions. As you will see below, there is an extensive network of AAP members structured with our Alumni Chapters. To arrange an interview, students should contact their local AAP Chair directly; specific cities are listed, but each chapter covers a larger metropolitan area.
Local alumni interviews and on-campus interviews with an admission staff member are valued equally in our admissions process; students should complete only one interview, either on-campus with an adimssions staff member or off-campus with an AAP member. A majority of applicants interview off-campus with an AAP member. While on-campus interviews go from May to November, our AAP representatives do not start interviewing until late September and finish each year by January 31.
While our alumni network is extensive, we understand that there may not be an AAP representative close to where you live or even within your state or country. Interviews, however, are strongly recommended, so we do encourage all applicants to interview, if possible. We understand that for many international students, an interview may not be possible. We do not offer phone or Skype interviews.
