"While Minnesota summers are very beautiful, weather can always be unpredictable," says Alyssa Anderson, a student supervisor at U of M's Freshman Admissions Welcome Center, who recommends checking the forecast and dressing appropriately. "Be sure to grab your umbrella or pack your sunscreen, and always wear comfortable walking shoes."
"Spending a day or two exploring the Minneapolis/St. Paul area can really show you what our community has to offer," suggests Devin Kling, a student tour guide. Consider renting one of the Nice Ride bikes--rental bicycles available to students and visitors on campus--to discover the variety of neighborhoods, restaurants, and cultural events available nearby to our students at the U of M. You could also check out an exhibit one of the area's 50+ museums, catch a show at the Guthrie Theater, shop at the Mall of America, and so much more!
